Grok Multilogue

This application was built with the purpose of developing custom oscillators for Korg Minilogue, Prologue and NTS-1 synthesizers using the official Logue-SDK.

To play with this demo you have to click on the grayed out speaker and you can play around with the parameters. It is also possible to change oscillators using the dropdown.

It was inspired by a demo originally posted by Korg in an interview last December 2019. The application has been built from the ground up with improved performance in mind and a more minimal setup, since its sole purpose is to launch one particular oscillator at a time during the development process.

Workflow

The proposed workflow is the following:
When developing your oscillator using the official SDK, you can compile to webassembly using the provided Makefile, once this is ready, this script is called and will launch a server running just the oscillator you just compiled. The UI params will be constructed based on the original oscillator's manifest.json file dynamically.

Credits

This demo uses the provided sample waves oscillator, as well as several Mutable Instruments oscillators ported to the KORG SDK by Peter Allwin on github.

The original demo code was done by Jari Kleimola.

Tech stack

On the tech side of things, the application is built from the ground up using React, and styled components for the UI. The oscillator code is compiled with emscripten into Webassemblythet is then turned into an AudioWorket Node and AudioWorklet Processor.
